In the Beginning

Time flies... or so they say. It feels like I've just arrived in Reno, and at the same time it feels like I've lived here for quite a while. Truth be told, I grow to like it here more every day, which is freakish for a girl who has always said "God willing I will always live in Oregon." Just as so many people have said- Reno does have a beauty all it's own, and I really do like it. The mountains are pretty amazing, even without any snow. The Truckee River and its surrounding trees are also very pretty. Lake Tahoe is breathtaking and I really look forward to spending more time there. I guess this is what it's like when you're right where God wants you to be. Open to what he wants to do with your life and fully trusting the promises.

I've been meaning to start this blog for some time but it's been non-stop action since I arrived. I just returned from a trip to Honolulu. It was completely incredible. We were blessed to have ocean view rooms on the 29th floor of the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. Needless to say, although we were working very hard (seriously) we were well pampered. I look forward to going back, hopefully in January.

Tomorrow I leave for New Jersey and New York. My first (albeit very short) trip to the metropolis. I am super excited.

That's all for now. I will update when I can about the substantive stuff. I am traveling a lot in the next three weeks- New Jersey/New York, Los Angeles and San Franciso. When I get back I say goodbye to the sweet apartment I've been sharing with my fabulous boss Nancy, as she and her husband Roy move into their beautiful new home and I move into "The Hobbit House." That story will have to wait for another day.

Blessings,
Melissa
